In 1870, George H. Tennant founded his small wood factory in the northeastern part of Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA.

In the 1930s, Tennant began to produce mobile floor cleaning equipment.

In 1947, Tennant engineers invented the first industrial vacuum electric sweeper.

In 1963, Tennant invented the predecessor of the all-in-one scrubber, making Tennant equipment the most versatile cleaning device in the world.

In 1970, Tennant developed the first original ride-on scrubber.

In 1978, Tennant invented its first hand-propelled self-propelled floor scrubber.
