One of Japan’s largest housing builders: Sekisui House (SKHSY) (1928 – )

Sekisui House, Ltd. (OTC PINK: SKHSY, SKHSF, TYO: 1928) was founded in 1960 and is headquartered in Osaka, Japan. It has 27,397 full-time employees and is one of the largest residential builders (house developers) in Japan.

In 1960, the housing division of Sekisui Chemical Industry was established as the main body, with a capital of 100 million yen. At that time, it was called “Sekisui Housing Industry Co., Ltd.” (Sekisui Havas Industry Co., Ltd.), and changed to its current name in 1963. Sekisui Chemical Industry still holds shares, but it is no longer a subsidiary (but Sekisui Chemical Industry also has a similar pronunciation in Japanese, called “SEKISUI HEIM” housing products).

Sekisui House, Ltd. designs, builds and contracts detached houses built to order in Japan and internationally. In 2009, Sekisui House expanded to Australia and Russia, and the following year, it expanded to China and the United States.

Sekisui House is engaged in the design, construction and contracting of real estate built to order for leases, medical and nursing facilities, commercial facilities and hotels; design, construction and contracting of buildings and civil engineering; reconstruction and renovation of houses, etc.; real estate transfer Rent, management, operation and brokerage; sale of houses and residential land; design, construction and sale of apartments; development of office and commercial buildings, and management and operation of self-owned properties.
