Currently, Blue Bird’s product lineup focuses on school and event buses and special vehicle derivatives.

Blue Bird provides a complete series of A, C and D school buses with a variety of options and configurations. Since 1927, Bluebird has continuously established industry standards with its innovative design and manufacturing capabilities. In addition, Blue Bird also provides comprehensive financial solutions through Blue Bird Capital Services. Today, Blue Bird has more than 2,200 employees in North America, a manufacturing facility in Georgia, and a network of distributors and parts and service facilities throughout North America. Through selling to Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Latin America, Europe and the Middle East, its global influence can be seen in more than 60 countries.

Blue Bird Corporation sells its products through a network of dealers and sells directly to fleet operators, the US government and state governments; and parts distribution centers.

In January 2017, Blue Bird announced that it would start developing zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) school buses using vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology. This development was supported by a US$4.4 million grant from the US Department of Energy and additional support from other entities, bringing together more than US$9 million in funding. The project will deploy eight ZEV V2G school buses in California.

At the end of 2017, Blue Bird developed an electric bus named “Blue Bird Micro Bird G5 Electric by Girardin”; in early 2018, “Blue Bird Vision Electric” and “Blue Bird All American T3RE Electric” were launched. These electric buses will be launched in 2019. Start production.
