USICELECTRY® is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Universal Security Instruments, established in 1998, and mainly sells smoke detectors, carbon monoxide alarms and other products to the power distribution industry.

Universal Security is headquartered in Owings Mills (outskirts of Baltimore) and has strategic warehouse facilities throughout the United States, enabling its customers to receive products the next day without having to pay for additional overnight services.

The specific products of General Security Instruments include:

  • Provide a series of safety alarms, including devices powered by replaceable batteries, sealed batteries and batteries with backup battery alarms;
  • Smoke alarms, including sound and heat alarms, as well as carbon monoxide alarms, doorbells, ground fault circuit breakers and ventilation products;
  • Carbon monoxide alarm;
  • Fire alarm.

Universal Security Instruments sells its products to wholesale distributors, chains, discount and television retailers, home center stores, catalog and mail order companies, electrical and lighting distributors, as well as housing manufacturing companies and other distributors. In addition, it sells its products through approximately 42 independent sales organizations and 230 sales representatives, as well as its own sales catalogs and manuals and websites.
